Rise together

Set an alarm for someone else. With their say-so.

When “please make sure I’m up” needs a plan, Alarmee lets you create an alarm for an approved friend, partner, roommate, or family member.

For iPhone and iPad · Approved contacts only

Start with an invitation, not remote access

Setting an alarm for someone else in Alarmee means using a feature you have both agreed to. It does not give you access to their phone or let you change their other alarm apps. Both people use Alarmee and pair before friend alarms are available.

Ask what time they need the alarm and whether it is a one-off plan. Confirm the date as well as the hour, especially for overnight shifts, travel, or someone living in another time zone.

How to create the arrangement

The exact screens can change as the app evolves, but the setup starts with a trusted connection and an agreed wake-up.

  1. Install Alarmee on both compatible iPhones or iPads.
  2. Pair with the other person and approve the relevant friend permissions.
  3. Create a friend alarm for the agreed date and time.
  4. Have the recipient check the alarm details and complete any permission prompts.
  5. Try a short test alarm before using the arrangement for an important morning.

Choose what happens after it rings

An alarm is one part of helping someone arrive on time. Ask whether they would like a message or call if they miss your agreed check-in. If you are both getting up for the same plan, a “both of us” alarm may fit better than a friend alarm.

Do not assume an alarm guarantees a wake-up. For a flight, exam, or work shift, encourage the person to keep a personal backup and check that their device is charged. If setup is not working, use Alarmee support before depending on it.

Good to know

A few more answers.

Can I set an alarm using only someone’s phone number?

No. An Alarmee friend alarm requires both people to use the app, pair, and approve access. Knowing a phone number is not enough.

Is a friend alarm the same as a shared alarm?

A friend alarm is for an approved contact. A shared “both of us” alarm supports a time or commitment that involves both people.

Can I force the other phone to ring?

Alarmee is a consent-based alarm app, not a way to take control of a device. Check setup and permissions together and test the alarm on the recipient’s device.
