1. Agree on the wake-up and the check-in
Ask when the person needs to be awake and why. A flight or early shift may require time to get ready long before the departure. Confirm the full date and local time if you are in different places.
Decide what help they actually want: an alarm prepared in advance, a call at an agreed time, or a message once they are up. A remote wake-up should be something the recipient has chosen.
2. Set up a friend alarm in advance
Alarmee lets an approved contact create an alarm for another person. It is useful when you want to prepare a wake-up together rather than rely on remembering a call in the morning.
- Both install Alarmee on compatible iPhones or iPads.
- Pair and approve the permissions needed for friend alarms.
- Create the alarm for the agreed recipient, date, and time.
- Ask the recipient to check the details and any device permission prompts.
- Run a short test while you can both confirm what happened.
3. Know the limits of a call or message
A call can be a useful follow-up when the recipient has agreed to it. A message gives them something to reply to once they are awake. Neither guarantees that they will hear or act on it, and you should not assume that you can override someone else’s phone settings.
If the person has not installed and paired in Alarmee, you cannot create an approved friend alarm just by knowing their number. Arrange the setup ahead of time.
4. Confirm the outcome and keep a backup
For an important morning, ask the person to keep a personal alarm and charge their device. Agree on a check-in that means “I’m up”, rather than treating an alarm action as proof.
Alarmee Pro offers shared snooze and stop activity, which can add context. It does not establish that someone is awake or ready. If a test fails, review the setup together or contact support before relying on it.
Good to know
A few more answers.
Can I wake someone remotely without setting anything up first?
You can try an agreed call, but Alarmee friend alarms require installation, pairing, and approval beforehand. Preparing while both people are awake gives you time to test.
Can I bypass silent mode or other settings on someone else’s phone?
Do not assume you can bypass another device’s settings. Have the recipient follow the app’s setup prompts and test the actual alarm behaviour on their device.
What if the person does not answer?
Follow the backup arrangement you agreed on. No response, or a stopped alarm, is not enough to confirm that they are awake.
